As the School Counselor, I help the students, parents, and teachers in ways that are not taught in books.
I believe it is my mission to . . .
Model Christian behavior and healthy communication.
Teach students (and teachers when necessary) to be empathetic to others' feelings.
Help the students to recognize the consequences of their choices by using examples and real life experiences.
Teach the students about feelings, safety, communication styles, careers, and drug awareness.
Help the students to recognize how their actions and words affect others.
Guide the students through the process of self-reflection, to help them become aware of their strengths and weaknesses, and then to set goals to improve their weaknesses.
Give the students tools to use throughout their lives, especially in regards to cognition, behavior, emotions, and relationships.
Assist the parents in working with thier children.
Work with teachers to best help their students, especially those who may have special needs.
Continue to work on my own weaknesses and increase my faith.
Allow the Lord to work through me every day.
